Expertise & Experience

Nottingham Trent University has excellent ties with the local and regional community.
The Department of Languages within the school of Arts, Communication and Culture, teaches members of the public on the University Language Programme (about 10% of total number of students on the programme)
Recently it won a European Award for Languages, in conjunction with Nottingham City Education Local Education Authority, for an innovative programme of Spanish language and culture training for primary school teachers. Another area of expertise within the Department is Language Learning Advising. The department was a partner in the UK SMILE Project (Strategies for Managing an Independent Learning Environment).
At European level, the university is currently involved in the Erasmus exchange programme. Co-operation projects also exist with the USA and Japan.
